The Costco IT Division is inviting students currently enrolled in an IT undergraduate or graduate program at a community college, college or university to participate in a 12-week paid internship program during the summer of 2024. Interns will work within specific areas in Costco's Information Systems Division. Interns will attend presentations given by various members of Executive Management from IT and other areas of the Company. Interns will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses. Housing is not provided.
Costco's Warehouse Fulfillment team is leveraging modern technology, frameworks, and infrastructure to build innovative Buy Online and Pick Up at the Warehouse (BOPIW) systems. The BOPIW initiative is underway, rapidly growing with the plan of rolling out the capabilities to 500 Costco Warehouse locations before the end of the summer. The team is responsible for delivering new enhancements and providing support to the business. The intern will have the opportunity to interface directly with customers, Systems Analysts, Software Developers, and QA/QE in solving issues and delivering solutions to real business problems. The internship will provide a holistic, hands-on SLDC experience from customer intake/business problem identification to solution design, development, testing, and implementation, while getting fully immersed in the Costco Culture.
NOTE: While participating in the IT Internship program, an individual will be classified as an hourly temporary employee for the duration of the program. During the program, the individual may be asked to undergo the normal interview process for a level 1 position. If the individual is offered a position, they will be converted to the employment status matching open job they were selected for. Internships last for twelve weeks. If they are not selected for a permanent position, the internship position will be complete in a maximum of twelve weeks.

• Participates in release planning activities, deployment, post-release, and ongoing support of the product/application.
• Collaborates with System Analysts and QAs to define the testing approach and/or automation strategy.
• Collaborates with the Product team members (e.g.: Product Owners, Product Managers) on business requirements, configuration, data requirements, test plans to satisfy business needs, Functional unit tests, Regression tests and System Integration tests.
REQUIRED
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possess good organizational, time, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, and stay well organized.
• Must be maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Must be students currently enrolled in an IT undergraduate or graduate program at a community college, college or university.
Recommended
• Costco warehouse, Ecommerce or retail experience is a plus.
• Experience with SQL queries.
• Experience with Java.

Pay Range: $19.50 - $29.90
