The Costco IT Division is inviting students currently enrolled in an IT undergraduate or graduate program at a community college, college or university to participate in a 12-week paid internship program during the summer of 2023. Interns will work within specific areas in Costco's Information Systems Division. Interns will attend presentations given by various members of Executive Management from IT and other areas of the Company. Interns will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses. Housing is not provided.
The Costco team is looking for aDevOps Engineer Intern to join its Ancillary team. The DevOps Engineer Intern's responsibilities include the automation of software builds, deployment systems, and infrastructure. Manages various development, test, staging, and demo environments (code review, code deployment, backups, data refreshes), as well as deploys and manages software into Costco's environments while leveraging as much automation as possible. The Intern is responsible for continually advancing the technology in a collaborative and creative agile environment using many of the latest technologies and industry best practices and finding better and more efficient ways of delivering solutions that meet business objectives. The successful candidate will oversee the code releases, combining an understanding of both engineering and coding. From creating and implementing systems software to analyzing data to improve existing ones, the DevOps Engineer Intern increases productivity in the workplace.
NOTE: While participating in the IT Internship program, an individual will be classified as an hourly temporary employee for the duration of the program. During the program, the individual may be asked to undergo the normal interview process for a level 1 position. If the individual is offered a position, they will be converted to the employment status matching open job they were selected for. Internships last for twelve weeks. If they are not selected for a permanent position, the internship position will be complete in a maximum of twelve weeks.

•Assists in provisioning applications in virtualized or container based platforms on Linux\Windows systems.
•Uses and becomes proficient in tools such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, Jenkins, Puppet, Azure Test Labs, and Git to improve and speed up delivery of our products and services.

•Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Possess good organizational, time, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, and stay well organized.
•Must be maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
•Must be students currently enrolled in an IT undergraduate or graduate program at a community college, college or university or a recent graduate.

Pay Range: $18.50 - $29.30
