Job Title:Help Desk Technician

Reports to:Help Desk Manager

Pay Class: Full-Time

Pay Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in remote support for our retail store operations including software installation, troubleshooting Point of Sale software, printer and scan gun issues.
2. Offer remote support across departments for technical issues and system maintenance (desktops, servers, wireless infrastructure, firewalls, etc.).
3. Participate in a rotating on-call duty for IT support outside of corporate hours.
4. Guide users on operating new software and maintenance of company-issued equipment.
5. Install and configure software and functions based on specifications.
6. Provide daily helpdesk support for system and network issues.
7. Offer technical support via phone, remote access, or in-person visits as necessary.
8. Validate functionality of hardware and software components.
9. Ensure the security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
10. Carry out other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Job Specifications - Education, Skills, and/or Experience:

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma; college/technical courses in related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of IT experience in roles like Help Desk Technician, computer technician, or IT support.
• Basic understanding of computer/network concepts and terminology.
• Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and Office.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing PCs.
• Familiarity with remote support tools (e.g., LogMeIn, VNC, RDP).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized, with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Capability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
• Collaborative team player.
• Ability to work autonomously with limited oversight.
• Deadline-driven in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
• Robust customer service skills.
• High motivation, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A+ Certification or equivalent knowledge.
• Security+ Certification or equivalent knowledge.
• Commercial Firewall configuration skills.
• Active Directory knowledge.
• Server experience and knowledge.
