Job Title:Help Desk Technician
Reports to:Help Desk Manager
Pay Class: Full-Time
Pay Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in remote support for our retail store operations including software installation, troubleshooting Point of Sale software, printer and scan gun issues.
- Offer remote support across departments for technical issues and system maintenance (desktops, servers, wireless infrastructure, firewalls, etc.).
- Participate in a rotating on-call duty for IT support outside of corporate hours.
- Guide users on operating new software and maintenance of company-issued equipment.
- Install and configure software and functions based on specifications.
- Provide daily helpdesk support for system and network issues.
- Offer technical support via phone, remote access, or in-person visits as necessary.
- Validate functionality of hardware and software components.
- Ensure the security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
- Carry out other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
Job Specifications - Education, Skills, and/or Experience:
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma; college/technical courses in related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of IT experience in roles like Help Desk Technician, computer technician, or IT support.
- Basic understanding of computer/network concepts and terminology.
- Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and Office.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing PCs.
- Familiarity with remote support tools (e.g., LogMeIn, VNC, RDP).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized, with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Capability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Collaborative team player.
- Ability to work autonomously with limited oversight.
- Deadline-driven in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
- Robust customer service skills.
- High motivation, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A+ Certification or equivalent knowledge.
- Security+ Certification or equivalent knowledge.
- Commercial Firewall configuration skills.
- Active Directory knowledge.
- Server experience and knowledge.
