Purpose
The IT Help Desk Specialist position is responsible for providing technical assistance and support, related to computer systems, hardware or software. He or she will respond to queries, troubleshoots issues, determines and implements solutions. Other duties will include email administration, assigning and maintaining user login and access privileges, the actual hard-wiring of jacks and workstations and monitoring of antivirus software on all machines throughout the business.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software and hardware.
- Respond to Helpdesk Tickets, either in person or via email, in a timely manner and then following up with the user to ensure issue has been resolved.
- Installs and offers support for phones.
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots and resolves software, hardware, network and system problems.
- Install, modify and repair computer hardware and software.
- Troubleshoots and resolves printer issues.
- Password management, setting up new users, deleting ex-employees, resetting forgotten passwords, monitoring password resets every 90 days.
- Email Management, setting up new employees, forwarding emails upon request, discontinuing ex-employees, setting up emails on cell phones and resolving any email issues that may arise.
- Monitors Antivirus alerts and ensures antivirus is installed on all machines.
- Follow all SFC Core Values and be a team player.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two-year technical degree in IT or MIS or Education/experience equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft products.
- Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network printers.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work in a cold/wet environment.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
