Reporting to the IT End User Services, the IT Specialist performs a variety of computer hardware and peripherals tasks in support of user and enterprise computers; familiar with the most recent computer operating systems on client and servers; maintain and support desktop hardware and related software to support user application utilization; perform a wide variety of technical duties involved in the configuration, installation, repair, and maintenance of personal computers, peripherals, servers and equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Configure, install, and update computer hardware, printers and peripherals, and related software to ensure proper and complete device utilization
- Update and assign assets, maintain inventory, equipment loans and returns
- Resolve and track equipment orders and returns, ship items, RMAs and status updates
- Troubleshoot and resolve computer hardware problems; escalate and ask for assistance to resolve problems in a timely manner
- Collaborate with other IT team members to deploy, maintain, and improve IT hardware solutions
- Provide technical support to end-users
- Utilize remote access tools for diagnosing and troubleshooting issues remotely
- Perform hardware patching and upgrades as necessary
- Respond to ticket requests for hardware troubleshooting
- Interfaces with vendor technical support staff to resolve hardware, printers and peripherals matters
- Maintains IT supplies and IT assets inventory and coordinates the disposal of all unwanted IT equipment
- Administer, deploy and support VOIP telephony equipment
- Maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; exercise time-management, documentation, organizational and communications skills
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Organize, prioritize, and coordinate daily workload activities
- Traveling may be required
- Any other duties as assigned by management
Required Qualifications / Experience:
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT operations capacity
- Strong verbal, written, analytical and communication skills; outstanding listening skills
- A mature yet flexible personality suitable to interfacing successfully with all levels of personnel
- Experience with Microsoft client and server operating systems (Win7 & 10, Server 2016 and 2019)
- Basic understanding of common principles in computer networking (e.g. IP addresses, DHCP, switches, etc.)
- Able to articulate issues, build consensus around recommendations, and define next steps
- Team oriented, self-starter able to work independently and customer focused
- Display positive and constructive attitude
- Display business and organizational maturity
- Demonstrates an outstanding work ethic and a sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly and efficiently

Salary: $40,000 to $60,000 per year
