JOB SUMMARY:
Lead a team of data quality analysts, data governance specialists, data analysts, and BI developers. Responsible for overseeing MS Azure Synapse environment and ensuring the quality, availability, and security of our data. The Data Manager will work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and processes that promote data integrity and compliance. Also, manage the data analytics team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality insights and reports that support business decision-making.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage a team of data quality analysts, data governance specialists, data analysts, and BI developers to ensure the effective management of our data environment.
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our MS Azure Synapse environment, including data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and data lake architecture.
- Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and processes that ensure the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and security of our data.
- Establish and maintain data quality metrics and monitors, and work with the team to develop and execute data quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and requirements and develop data analytics solutions that provide actionable insights and drive business outcomes.
- Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality data insights and reports that meet business needs and requirements.
- Stay up to date with emerging data technologies and industry best practices and make recommendations for process improvements and system upgrades.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts for data-related services and ensure service level agreements are met.
- Develop and maintain documentation of data governance policies, procedures, and standards, and provide training and support to end-users.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data management, preferably in a MS Azure Synapse environment.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and data lake architecture.
- Experience managing a team of data analysts, data quality analysts, data governance specialists, and BI developers.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
- Certification in data management or related field, such as CDMP or DAMA.
