IT Data Analyst
Position summary
As a Data Analyst, you'll utilize modern BI tools and data platforms to analyze data, trends, and insights, and develop operational, business, and key service analytics for internal business partners. Your focus will be to transform complex data into information which can offer ways to improve our business, impacting business decisions.
This is a full-time salaried hybrid that will require one to be onsite at least two days per week.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the product owner and other internal stakeholders to understand and define the data and analytics requirements for business decision-making.
- Analyze, interpret, and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for the business owners & leaders.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that effectively visualize key performance indicators and business trends.
- Use statistical tools to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive business analytics.
- Support the scrum master in backlog refinement and sprint planning activities by providing insight into data complexities and availability.
- Collaborate with the data engineer in the formulation of processes for data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL).
- Train end users on dashboard, reports, and the BI Platform.
- Actionable Dashboards and Reports: Deliver reports and dashboards that visualize key performance indicators and business trends.
- Data Analysis Reports: Provide comprehensive reports summarizing data analysis findings, including actionable insights and recommendations.
- Data Insight for Sprint Planning: Provide data insight to support backlog refinement and sprint planning activities.
- End User Training: Deliver effective training to end users on dashboards, reports, and the BI platform.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required in analytics, computer science or business administration.
- 5+ years of experience analyzing data, trends, and creating reports and analytics.
- Experience using BI tools and global data platforms (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).
- Experience with best practices for data science, decision science, and business intelligence, including methodologies for ETL (SQL).
- Knowledge of database principles and data formats and the ability to use it to organize, process, and analyze data.
- Hands-on Experience with Queries, Data relationships, and basic programming.
- Fluency in writing DAX Measures and Calculated Columns.
- Fluency in Data Preparation, Data Modeling, and Data Visualization.
- Microsoft Office experience, including intermediate excel skills.
- Exposure to Cloud technology.
Desirable Criteria & Qualifications
- Work experience with predictive analytic modeling tools such as R, Python, DataRobot, and Microsoft Azure ML.
- Previous experience building Metrics, Balanced Score Cards, Key Performance Indicators, Data Analysis, with dashboard data visualization techniques.
- Experience with analyzing data pulled from a data historian for a production environment.
- Experience with the medical device industry is a plus.
