Our client creates water and wastewater systems through planning, design, implementation, and support. These systems are used for municipalities scattered throughout the Illinois area.
The position would require excellent analytical problem-solving, communication, and customer relationship management skills. The IT Consultant works directly with clients and management to design, troubleshoot, and maintain technology solutions for our clients in a fast-paced, growing environment. This role has a strong emphasis on network consulting for the clients. Apart from this, the role will also include solving general IT problems as they arise with our client or at customer sites. Lastly, this role will serve as the IT expert by configuring new hardware for employees, and training employees on new hardware as needed.
Requirements:
- 5 years of networking experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer Science
- Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting wired and wireless networks including but not limited to network security, VPN, firewalls, cellular routers, and VLANS. Internet-related communications: DNS, DHCP, and firewall understanding are expected.
- Windows-based operating systems familiarity is required. Troubleshooting of Windows server and client environments is expected as part of the role.
- Full-cycle project-focused IT
- Experience writing clear, concise technical documentation including network diagrams and communicating non-technically.
- Ability to travel – will be using their car but will be reimbursed for meals and gas mileage (.58 cents/mile). Travel will be local, about an hour from their home office.
