Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Mission & Culture: All employees are required to uphold the mission and values and conduct themselves with the highest level of professionalism
  • Troubleshooting Network Systems and Components: Investigate and resolve network-related issues, such as connectivity problems, firewall configurations, and hardware failures. Collaborate with the Network Administrator to address escalated network incidents effectively.
  • Reporting and KPI Monitoring: Work closely with management to develop reporting dashboards that monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to IT systems and infrastructure. Utilize SQL, Power BI, IBM Cognos and other database software to collect, analyze, and present data in meaningful formats.
  • Assisting in Systems Administration: Provide aid and support in installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining computer systems, networks, and applications. Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution of issues.
  • Designing and Repairing Databases: Follow diagrams and written instructions to design, repair, or set up databases, SharePoint, Power Apps, and other software platforms. Ensure the efficient and reliable functioning of these systems.
  • Development of Emerging Technologies: Stay informed about emerging technologies and evaluate how they can benefit the company's operations. Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time to work on tasks until completion within required deadlines. When necessary, coordinate with third-party vendors to resolve issues effectively.
  • Training and Documentation: Develop training materials to educate end users on data entry, management, and utilization of dashboards. Provide detailed documentation related to database development and issue resolution.
  • User Support: Assist with user-related issues, including configuration, password reset, user account setup, profiles, and email management.
  • Process Streamlining: Identify opportunities to streamline existing processes and develop programs that improve operational efficiency.
  • Maximizing System Uptime: Be instrumental in maintaining the maximum uptime of all IT systems. Proactively suggest improvements to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Building Relationships: Establish positive working relationships with staff, customers, and other professionals to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Staying Updated on Software Trends: Continuously learn and stay up to date with the latest software trends and industry best practices.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Act as a key team player within the IT team and work closely with senior management to align IT strategies with the company's overall goals.
  • Additional Training: Undertake additional training as required to meet the evolving business needs and the demands of the IT environment.
  • Flexibility in Duties: Be willing to take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the management or Director of IT.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • IT Infrastructure: In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, storage systems, virtualization technologies, and cloud platforms.
  • Operating Systems: Proficiency in administering Windows and Linux operating systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Networking Concepts: Understanding of network protocols, topologies, and components, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Database Management: Familiarity with database systems, such as MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, IBM Cognos and the ability to perform basic database operations.
  • Security Best Practices: Knowledge of security measures, practices, and tools to protect IT assets, data, and systems from potential threats.
  • Troubleshooting Techniques: Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, including root cause analysis.
  • Cloud Computing: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, and the ability to deploy and manage cloud-based services.
  • Software and Application Support: Understanding of software applications, installation, and support procedures.
  • Database and Reporting Skills: Ability to develop databases using SQL, Power BI, and other database software to create reporting dashboards for monitoring KPIs.
  • Systems Administration: Proficiency in installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining computer systems, networks, and applications.
  • Network Troubleshooting: Skills to troubleshoot network systems, components, and application problems, including configuring and replacing parts.
  • Documentation: Strong ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, management, customers, and other professionals.
  • Training and Education: Ability to develop training materials and educate end users on data entry, management, and dashboard utilization.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks to meet required deadlines.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Capability to take on additional responsibilities and adapt to evolving business requirements and technology trends.
  • Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated on software trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.

Physical and Environmental Demands

  • Sitting and Standing: The job often requires prolonged periods of sitting in front of computers, working at desks, and standing while attending to servers or network equipment.
  • Lifting and Carrying: IT Bi Analyst may need to lift and carry computer equipment, servers, or other hardware components, which can vary in weight. The ability to lift and move equipment safely is essential.
  • Dexterity and Mobility: The job may involve fine motor skills and manual dexterity to connect cables, configure hardware, and perform other technical tasks.
  • Vision and Hearing: Good vision is crucial for reading technical documentation, configuring systems, and troubleshooting issues. Adequate hearing is necessary to communicate effectively with colleagues and users.
  • Temperature: In server rooms, the temperature can be cooler due to the need to maintain optimal conditions for equipment. In contrast, office environments typically have controlled temperatures.
  • Noise: Server rooms can be noisy due to cooling systems, fans, and other equipment. Office environments are generally quieter but may still have some ambient noise.
  • Electrical Hazards: IT Bi Analyst works with electrical equipment and devices. Knowledge of electrical safety practices is essential to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.
  • Limited Physical Activity: While there may be occasional tasks that require physical activity, much of the work involves using computers, managing systems, and troubleshooting, which do not involve extensive physical exertion.
