The IT Internship is designed for a student seeking a degree in a field associated with Computer Science, Security or Management Information Systems to provide the opportunity to have an integrated work experience in the healthcare information technology field, and the opportunity to job shadow various positions of interest as well as work on a variety of Healthcare IT projects.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Automation team identifies opportunities for automating standard processes, develops requirements for potential solutions, and codes and implements automation bots to complete the solution. The Automation Developer intern will work with the staff to understand the requirements for automation projects and develop automation solutions. The intern will gain experience in automation development including hands on experience using tools associated with the UIPath automation platform: UIPath Orchestrator, Automation Hub and Task Capture.
The Automation Developer intern will complete a hands on training program under the guidance of an experienced Automation Developer. They will then be assigned to one or more small projects where he/she will be responsible for working with the business assessment team to understand the requirements. They will then develop the automation and support the implementation of the automation bot. The intern will participate in the following activities:
  • Work with Automation Developers to understand the platform, automation development standards, and quality processes governing development and implementation.
  • Meet with the business assessment team to review and understand the requirements for the automation. Become familiar with the various requirements and process definition documents.
  • Utilize development platforms such as the UiPath automation platform or MSFT Power Automate to complete development. UiPath platform training will be provided.
  • Draft technical documentation for automations. This documentation will describe the inner working of the system / automation in detail.
  • Working in conjunction with the business assessment team to execute and document developer testing. Correct and document any issues discovered through testing.
  • Support the deployment of the automation. Provide user support and documentation as needed to ensure the automation is properly implemented.
  • This internship may include several hands-on training modules to develop an understanding of the automation development process, tools and platform.

The ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of the application development process and experience coding in at least one high level programming language. Experience with databases, data analytics and report creation is a plus. They should have an interest in software development and the implementation of software solutions to solve business problems.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS :
Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time. Requires crouching, kneeling, and lifting of objects weighing up to 60 pounds, pushing objects weighing up to 80 pounds. Requires hand and finger dexterity to perform repairs of small equipment and to use computer equipment. Seeing as it relates to general, near, color, and peripheral vision. Hearing as it relates to normal and telephone conversations.
EDUCATION:
Applicants should be enrolled in a 2-year Associates or 4-year bachelor's program for Computer Science, Computer Science and Business, MIS, Business, or a similar program.
