Summary:
The IS Technical Specialist/Developer Sr, provides technical and consultative support on the most complex technical matters. Under general direction, devise and/or modify procedures to solve complex application problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. This includes coding/scripting, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining those programs. You will be competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of application engineering activities. This position will be part of a team operating in an agile environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work as a key technical team member to do the work necessary to deliver on our product goals. Develop new applications and feature enhancements leveraging your skills and expertise with Java, WebSphere, .NET, Rest API, Fuse, Kafka and other tools and technologies.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert for key systems. Support routine and ad-hoc research and discovery.
- Support continuous improvement of our products, our team operating cadences and our run-state operations (logging, monitoring, alerting, metrics, level 2, and documenting of knowledge for scalability across the technical team).
- Work with other technical teams to arrange for technical dependencies and cross-collaboration.
- Provide expert advice on complex system design issues and contribute to ongoing planning and development of systems enhancements.
- Foster a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles.
- Coach/mentor other team members as appropriate
- Creates prototype designs for complex/significant-risk features and customer needs
- Inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization's direction (product/agile/devops).
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant experience working with technology teams to deliver business and technical solutions leveraging your skills with Java, WebSphere, .NET, Rest API, Fuse, Kafka and JSON
- 8+ years of experience and proven understanding of DevOps, continuous integration, container-based applications, cloud deployment architectures.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or other related field/experience

- Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities and effectively prioritize them.
- Experience in working on initiatives that involve business segments.
- Expert understanding of agile concepts and an agile mindset. Working knowledge of Scrum and Kanban delivery frameworks.
- High level of professionalism and confidence with the ability to build credibility with leadership, team members, and business partners and establish effective working relationships.
- Ability to problem-solve to produce quality deliverables on time and on budget.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels and explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to multiple layers of peers and leadership.
