Andy’s Sprinkler, Drainage, and Lighting in the northwest area of Houston, TX, is seeking to add an experienced Irrigation Service Technician to our team to install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial irrigation, outdoor drainage, and low-voltage landscape lighting systems.
This position provides you with the opportunity to become an industry expert, with the potential for management opportunities in the future.
The average technician can expect to earn $50,000-$80,000 per year which includes your base pay, commission, and sales bonuses.

What You'll Do:
- Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential and commercial irrigation, outdoor drainage, and low-voltage landscape lighting systems.
- Make recommendations for continuous improvement in customers’ system needs.
- Identify solutions for common and complex system issues and play an active role in the implementation of those solutions.
- Provide unmatched customer service by communicating with the customers in a professional manner about their systems before, during, and after service.
- Responsible for payment collection on all of your assigned Jobs.
- Maintain company vehicle cleanliness and organization and submit requests for routine maintenance to the fleet department.
- Effectively route and navigate your assigned vehicle to all Jobs.
- Professionally communicate scheduling changes, Job details, and unexpected alterations to both the office staff and assigned customer.
- Use a tablet to complete work orders, create estimates, and call customers daily.
- Train and mentor Service Technician Assistants and interns on job responsibilities and best practices.
- Assist with other branch and field tasks as assigned.
What We Need from You:
- Current state irrigation licensure (TCEQ) or 3 years of related experience required.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Fluent and proficient in English.
- Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.
- Positive and dependable attitude.
- Problem solving skills and critical thinking on a mechanical level.
- Must possess a desire for continual learning and continuous improvement, personally and professionally.
- Ability to bend and stoop while maintaining in-ground system.
- Ability to move supplies weighing up to 25lbs and occasionally lift up to 95lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willingness to work in all types of weather.
- Available for over-time during peak season (March through September).
