Irrigation Sales Support Coordinator

Sarasota, FL

$24-$28/hr.

Temp-to-permanent


Position Purpose:

This Golf Irrigation Sales Support & BEP Board Exchange Coordinator position provides Sales Support for large project proposal creation, order entry, market support processing, and other key functions for parts-related support to our Irrigation golf, golf, sports field, and grounds, municipal, consumer and landscape contractor customers for both domestic & export sales. This position is responsible for expediting all customer requests for Irrigation refurbished boards to include Deerfield Beach customers.It also includes analyzing date codes for replacement as well as warranty replacement.To be prepared to troubleshoot, and review customer warranty agreements, maintaining records for bill-backs and proper billings.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Golf Irrigation Sales Support
  • Works closely with the golf irrigation operations manager to manage bids.
  • Works with associated vendors to receive pricing and delivery information.
  • Responsible for updating salesperson prelude with current products and prices.
  • Order tracking with vendors on existing purchase orders
  • Estimating
  • Works with sales manager, operations manager and territory managers on quotes and proposals
  • Material take-offs and pricing for golf course projects
  • Works with irrigation influencers; architects, consultants, contractors, national accounts, etc.
  • The job involves supporting golf irrigation operations and seven (7) outside territory managers for approximately 30-50 renovation projects annually as well as market support for Irrigation Sales Manager.
  • Project a positive attitude always.
  • Support warehouse staff with live export loads.
  • Assists customer service with complex irrigation orders.
  • Assist warehouse with inventory cycle counts.

  • This position will act as our Irrigation’s “lead-BEP facilitator” for customer calls/orders excluding large packages.
  • Take customer BEP orders for parts via phone, fax, web, email.

  • This position reports to the Irrigation Operations Manager


Accountabilities:

  • Maintain accurate electronic quote information files for each job including current vendor quotes and expiration dates.
  • The position requires acting as the main facilitator for Toro’s Irrigation BEP-refurbished board program for all locations, including Deerfield-Beach. BEP program involves both the exchange program as well as the warranty program to include - purchasing replacement products, yearly return program, and maintaining all inventory levels of BEP inventory so that sales are attainable.
  • Accountable for BEP monthly inventory counts and the reconciliation.
  • Maintain a good relationship with customers and be able to manage problems as well as confrontations with customers.
  • Attend required live training sessions and webcasts.
  • Must be dependable and flexible with hours. Overtime will be required during certain periods & early arrival for team meetings.
  • Verbal communication with customers and associates must be professional in the workplace.


Qualifications:

  • Requires the ability to interact with our customers in a professional manner on a daily basis.
  • Must be computer literate and able to type with reasonable speed and accuracy.
  • Should have some background in irrigation systems and technical aptitude.
  • Must be able to communicate with customers to obtain information needed to look up the correct parts for their systems. Good with detail.
  • Must be dependable and have reliable transportation.
  • Current hours: 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Must be dependable and reliable transportation. Flexibility with work hours is desired.
  • Background in inventory management is a plus.


Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma.
  • Some College or Technical School preferred.
  • Previous parts sales and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Irrigation / technical experience preferred.


Language Skills:

Ability to understand and communicate in Spanish is a plus.


Mathematical Skills:

Must be able to perform basic mathematics.


Reasoning Skills:

  • Must be able to make educated decisions to extend superior customer service.
  • Understand the basics of inventory control with regard to credits and re-bills.
  • Most importantly must be able to always maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards our customers as well as internal personnel.
  • Good reasoning skills to obtain the required information to acquire the correct part needed by the customer.


Computer Skills:

Must be computer literate and have at least intermediate skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.


Physical Demands:

  • Position requires sitting at a computer workstation for long periods as well as excessive data entry.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • While working in the warehouse or around equipment the associate must always be aware of their surroundings and aware of those in the vicinity.


Work Environment:

  • The Irrigation Department - Customer Service office is heated and air-conditioned.Each employee has his/her own workstation and computer.
  • Some parts research may require ascending a flight of stairs to the second floor of the office or the parts department located in the warehouse.The warehouse is neither heated nor air-conditioned and can be very cold or very warm and humid.
  • The employee is sometimes exposed to fumes and airborne particles while in the warehouse area.
  • Approach each day with a “winning attitude” and be a positive influence on the entire team.
