Job description
We are looking for experience in both erecting and welding structural steel and must be certified in welding flux core 232. Hourly pay will be based on experience level, with the opportunity to increase as responsibilities and experience increase.
This job requires a person to be in relatively good/healthy physical shape as you will be working on your feet, operating large equipment, working from ladders, and moving material. Applicant must be able to use ladders and fall protection gear without exceeding the weight limits. Applicant must be able to lift 50lbs, understand proper lifting technique, and be able to comfortably work in a range of physical positions. Perform tasks involving physical labor at heavy construction projects. Raises, places, and unites beams, girders, columns, bracing, and other structural steel members to construct structures or framework.

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years working in structural steel erection
- Certified and experienced in welding flux core .232
- Experience working on large construction job-sites.
- Professional attitude and high awareness for safety
- Ability to safely climb ladders, stairs, and structures, must be able to work at heights of 100+ feet above the ground.
- Experience using fall protection, boatswain's chair, power scaffold, and positioning equipment
- Experience using customary shop equipment such as a drill press, hydraulic press, grinders, sanders, band saws.
- Experience with hoists, lifting and jacking devices, powered carts (mules), man lifts and lift trucks
- OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 Certified
- Forklift/Aerial Lift Certified
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Able to travel and work overtime (may include nights and weekends).
- Must be at least 18 years of age, pass drug screen and background check.
Essential Duties:
Follow Daily Procedures and Protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings and Safety Handbooks. Properly follow OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent or Safety Facilitator.
- Use basic rigging knowledge to set up hoisting and raising of structural steel members.
- Signals crane operator in setting of steel members during erection.
- Using tag line, guides members in place then uses hand tools to pry, push, and pull the members into place so that the connections can be made up.
- Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together in various body positions and may assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
- Bolts, welds, and cuts material as needed to make up connections.
- Loads, transports and unloads material, tools, equipment, and supplies

Work Conditions:
Remote site at a military base
Construction site with mobile construction equipment.
Outside conditions include inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to building materials and dust.
