The Iowa Health Navigator provides health related case management, outreach, and application assistance to all refugees and other eligible immigrants who are resettled by World Relief Quad Cities in Scott County, IA. The Iowa Health Navigator is a member of WRQC's Iowa Resettlement Team and serves as an extra support to ensure health access to those resettled by WRQC in Iowa.
Role & Responsibilities- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Complete Iowa DHS food stamp, Medicaid, SSI, RCA, and FIP applications for new arrivals
- Report refugee arrival and benefit enrollments accurately and quickly
- Complete health care needs assessment for incoming refugees
- Coordinate Initial Health Screenings with local healthcare organization and follow up on referrals or treatment needs
- Participate in Iowa Refugee Wellness meetings and projects
- Support statewide refugee wellness and health improvement efforts
- Provide referrals to internal and external services as appropriate
- With support of the supervisor, complete quarterly narrative reports for Iowa Health Navigator program
- Other duties as assigned
- Fluency in written and spoken English language
- Strong administrative and computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent time management abilities and ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Advanced cross-cultural fluency, with ability to collaborate effectively with team members of other cultural, linguistic, or religious backgrounds
- Knowledge of Iowa public benefits and healthcare systems
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Fluency in Dari, Pashto, Arabic, Swahili, Burmese, Zo Chin, or Karen
- Valid driver's license, regular access to vehicle, and ability/willingness to drive clients to appointments
- Experience navigating health systems in the Quad Cities

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.
· Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.
· Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.
