Investment Analyst

Tectonic Advisors, LLC is a Texas-based, SEC registered investment advisor focused on long-term relationships and goal-oriented results. Tectonic Advisors has in excess of $2.5 billion1 in assets under management and advisement. We provide asset management solutions to registered investment advisors, trust departments, foundations, family offices and individuals. These solutions are composed of a suite of active and passive strategies, designed to provide customized investment programs and objectives using actuarially-driven projections. Tectonic Advisors' proprietary trading software manages its passive ETF portfolios with the goal of generating consistent returns while avoiding significant downturns in the stock market.

Tectonic strives to deliver outstanding risk adjusted performance and client service through a comprehensive array of investment strategies. We are currently looking to add an Investment Analyst to our team.

Summary/Objective

Reporting to the Senior Managing Director, the Investment Analyst is responsible for supporting portfolio management activities, including the facilitation of trade execution. The position requires consistent availability during market hours, a solid understanding of portfolio management systems, ongoing communications with the portfolio management team, and continual efforts to develop and maintain efficient and robust portfolio management systems within the context of a strong control environment.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for management and maintenance of investment content, reports, fact sheets, brochures, etc.
• Responsible for client web portal access: setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Reviews daily the data within the systems such as security classification, pricing, and error reports for accuracy and customization.

Responsibilities:

• Participates in due diligence of investment funds, strategies and managers (for both public markets and private markets).
• Participates in projects to support or enhance the portfolio management processes and systems.
• Participates in projects related to the design and installation of additional systems for which the Investment Operations department has oversight.
• Participates in training both employees and clients on the utilization of systems and reports used by our firm.
• Support role in trading responsibilities to include the receipt, monitoring, and organizing of trades that have been input into the portfolio management system and the transmission of trades to appropriate destinations for execution. Scope includes managing all activity on a centralized trading desk as well as trades from model providers, monitoring of open orders, and working with operations to resolve settlement problems.
• Participates in calls with technology partners regarding investment, performance, and portfolio management related items/issues as well as any other systems for which the Investment Operations department has oversight.
• Provides support in the design, creation, and maintenance for performance reporting, composite management, and client report packages.
• As necessary, participates in conversions associated with the performance reporting and portfolio management system when new parts of the organization are integrated.

Education and Experience:

• Required:Undergraduate education in Finance or Accounting or significant related experience

• Required Systems Experience:Orion, Schwab Advisor Center, Riskalyze, eMoney, Canvas, YCharts. PSN/Zephyr, Bloomberg Terminal/Anywhere
• Required:Working knowledge of performance reporting processes and portfolio management systems
• Required:Experience with and participation in technology conversions as a member of the conversion team
• Preferred:2+ years of experience in an Operations, Custodian, Trust Company, or Investment Firm environment performing processing, settlements, pricing, trading, security master management, and/or reconciliation tasks

No travel is expected for this position.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed based on management's approval. This is a hybrid role that allows for remote flexibility with an in-office presence at least 2 days a week in the office (typically Tuesday and Friday)) or as business need dictates.
