INVESTIGATIVE ASSISTANT

The Background Investigations Directorate is seeking motivated individuals with inquisitive minds to fill the position of Investigative Assistant. This person should be a self-starter who will perform a variety of technical and administrative duties such as: records checks, letter preparation, preparing reports of investigation, and other related tasks under the direction of the Supervisory Investigator.Qualifications: The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened from the Office of Personnel Management's (OPMs) basic qualifications requirements. Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience required for this position is:

• Clerical or technical experience that includes organizing information, maintaining data base records (entering, searching for, retrieving, editing and deleting data)
• Using word processing and basic spreadsheet software
• Reviewing basic documents (employment applications, claims for benefits, loan applications, contracts, or investigative forms) for accuracy and completeness

Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
