POSITION SUMMARY
The individual in this role assists with oversees and coordinates the activities of the inventory control team. They are responsible for managing inventory discrepancies, daily cycle count reports, confirming variances, inventory adjustments, and addressing product shortages. Additionally, the supervisor monitors inventory moves to ensure accuracy and efficiency.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate receiving reports and inventory requisitions for items in stock
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date inventory data to support purchasing decisions
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid understocking or overstocking
  • Supervise and coordinate inventory counts
  • Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock and make adjustments as necessary
  • Prepare inventory balance and shortage reports as required
  • Oversee the work of support personnel in the inventory control process
  • Maintain or improve the cycle count rate to ensure the entire inventory is counted annually
  • Review the cost of inventory report and reconcile transactions with actual inventory on hand
  • Investigate and correct discrepancies in inventory on a daily basis
  • Analyze demand and generate inventory transfers as needed
  • Establish and maintain standards for accurate audits of respective areas
  • Manage code dates to ensure the availability of fresh products
  • Create and report departmental key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Maximize production efficiency by strategically placing inventory items
  • Selects, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, and disciplines associates in coordination with the Human Resources Department
  • Promote a collaborative work environment, encouraging effective communication and cross-training initiatives to enhance team productivity, versatility, and skill development
  • Enforce comprehensive safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and conduct ongoing training to ensure a secure work environment, fostering a safety-conscious culture among Distribution center staff
  • Maintains a systematic approach to 5S principles, enforcing standards for cleanliness and organization, conducting inspections, and providing training to optimize workflow, efficiency, and a clean work environment
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by management

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills required)

  • Preferred: Associate degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse team leadership within a distribution center; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in using ERP or Distribution Systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Demonstrates the ability to design workflows and procedures, generate innovative solutions, identify and resolve issues promptly, and coordinate projects effectively
  • Exhibits professional experience working collaboratively in a team environment
  • Shows the capacity to generate creative solutions
  • Has the ability to read and interpret various documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Demonstrates skill in writing routine reports and correspondence
  • Possesses effective verbal communication skills, with the ability to address groups of customers or employees in an organization
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and thoroughness in work
  • Displays diligence in completing tasks in a timely manner, utilizing effective time management skills
  • Maintains a strong focus on safety, adhering to safety and security procedures
  • Requires strong leadership abilities, both in managing direct reports and leading others
