Location/Division Specific Information

This is a Sr. Site Specialist position with the Unity Lab Services team focused on service delivery excellence at client sites located in the Seattle, WA area.

Specific activities relative to the job function could include a portfolio of services including inventory management, stockroom services, material handling, order entry, shipping & receiving, chemical registration, order management, operating customer receiving/procurement systems, and dock management.

A day in the Life:

  • Perform inventory replenishment and disbursements including product management, backorder resolution, stockroom/POU (Point of Use) maintenance activities, and coordination with sales team to ensure product availability
  • Participate in individual or group projects and meetings that can include cross-coverage training, cost savings analysis, learning groups, writing work instructions and developing job training methods
  • Daily dock management including receiving, delivery tracking, package documentation, and invoice reconciliation.
  • May be asked to perform general lab tasks such as glasswash operations, equipment maintenance, biohazard waste removal, freezer and fridge defrost, general lab cleaning, and detrashing.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • Demonstrated ability with inventory management, shipping/receiving, and customer service
  • Evidence of ability to follow well defined procedures such as Best Practices, SOP’s & work instructions
  • Experience in laboratory setting or life science services preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • High level of confidence using a computer and inventory software. MS Outlook and MS Excel are used daily
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer service setting with proven verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Detail oriented problem solver who promotes a team environment and excels in an environment with minimal supervision and high expectations

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Work primarily at multiple customer locations, in laboratory environments, in and around shipping/receiving docks, stockrooms, storage locations and/or cubicles
  • Extensive walking/standing may be necessary for 75-85% of the day
  • Lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently and use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks; may be required to lift 50 lbs.
  • Personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, face mask, hairnets and/or safety gloves
  • Be prepared to work hours required to get the job done and work overtime as the need arises
  • Learn and follow DOT/IATA shipping regulations and maintain certification

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Washington is $19.64–$29.45.
