Here is what you will be doing as part of the team:

Summary:

The Inventory Planning Manager is a leader in the areas of Demand Forecasting, Inventory Planning, and Replenishment at the SKU/Location level to achieve our in-stock and inventory productivity targets.   This position includes inventory optimization for the specific area of responsibility as well as working with peers and other team members to enable cross-functional support and success.  This role will be leading and developing a team of inventory planners to achieve our inventory targets of the organization.

 

This position uses advanced replenishment software and analytics for problem-solving and decision support for the assigned area and requires a strong knowledge of Demand Forecasting and Replenishment practices and systems (preferably Blueridge/Clarity or E3); working to align inventory management with sales goals & business strategies while driving efficiencies to flow product on time and ensuring that the right product is at the right location at the right time in the right quantities.  The position will also understand transportation impacts on inventory and efficiencies in the overall supply chain.

Job Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead centralized corporate Inventory Management efforts for the area of responsibility.
  • Communicate regularly with Division and Regional Managers regarding business trends and inventory support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Inventory Planning and Forecasting best practices.
  • Manage, support, and nurture the development, growth, and success of their Inventory Planners.
  • Implement various system views and tools to assist in analyzing the business trends and identify Forecasting and Inventory optimization opportunities.
  • Follow up with the Inventory Planning team to ensure KPIs around forecasting and inventory levels are met.
  • Develop/maintain demand forecasts and other ordering parameters to achieve inventory targets for the area.
  • Research out of stocks and implement corrective action.
  • Respond timely with a sense of accountability to questions from the stores and management regarding product levels and availability.
  • Identify and resolve Aged, Non-Performing, Discontinued, and other at-risk inventory and recommend actions to maintain inventory health.
  • Actively participate and present inventory information in various meetings to an audience at all levels.
  • Owns the end-to-end management of proper inventory flow to the stores relative to sales and financial goals.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business (or related discipline) and/or relevant work experience.
  • Proven leadership/management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional judgment and strategic planning/problem-solving skills/interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
  • Flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Experience with Blueridge/Clarity or E3 preferred.
