Inventory Planner

Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Inventory Planner to join our team. This role is part of the team that manages parts inventories for new Navistar vehicles and engines, ensuring parts are available at our Parts Distribution Centers when a new product launches. The position works closely with Product Support Managers and suppliers to ensure purchase orders are placed and followed up on, as well as follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery to our PDC's prior to the new product being introduced.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following functions:

• Material and services sourcing
• Procurement
• Supplier management
• Production planning
• Transportation
• Inventory control
• Distribution
• Process reengineering 
• Performs supply chain and logistics functions, such as material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution
• Creates integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing and logistics) and outside suppliers
• Responsibilities are within the Supply Chain Management function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines

Minimum Requirements

• At least 4 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

OR

• Bachelor's degree
• At least 2 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

OR

• Master's degree

Additional Requirements

• Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status).
