This role is crucial in ensuring that customer orders are accurately picked, packed, and prepared for shipment in a timely manner.
Job Summary:
The Inventory Order Picker is responsible for accurately selecting and picking items from inventory to fulfill customer orders. This role involves using handheld devices, picking lists, or computer systems to locate products within the warehouse, picking them according to specific instructions, and preparing them for shipment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Review customer orders and picking lists to determine items to be picked and quantities required.
- Use handheld devices, scanners, or computer systems to locate products within the warehouse.
- Retrieve items from shelves, bins, or pallets using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or reach trucks.
- Ensure that items picked match the order specifications in terms of quantity, size, and quality.
- Verify product codes, lot numbers, and expiration dates to ensure accuracy.
- Pack picked items securely and neatly in containers, boxes, or pallets according to packing guidelines.
- Label packages with accurate shipping information, including addresses, barcodes, and tracking numbers.
- Stage packed orders for shipment and coordinate with shipping and receiving personnel to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including aisles, shelves, and picking zones.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while operating equipment and handling products.
- Report any inventory discrepancies, damaged items, or quality issues to supervisors or management.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily picking quotas and maintain high productivity levels.
- Participate in training programs and meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- computer skills required
- Previous experience as an Order picker, warehouse associate, or in a similar role preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or reach trucks, is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking orders.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems or inventory tracking software is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities.
