The Inventory Specialist is responsible for the reconciliation of all received material inbound from trucks, rail and barge for all customers and to convert sales orders into production orders to minimize risk of equipment damage or personal injury and to maximize flow.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participates in Inventory Control by participating in cycle counts and monitoring material movement.
- Always follow and enforce company safety policies and safe work practices to ensure the safety of self and others.
- Using company owned software (SAP) maintain the integrity of all areas of Flat Roll – Tulsa inventory by extensive computer entry and accuracy to move incoming material into inventory.
- Determine coils and orders to be tested per standard testing criteria and special customer instructions.
- Maintain red material, claims and customer returns and credits.
- Works with other departments, customers, and outside logistics to get correct paperwork and information, packing lists, etc. to reconcile material versus inventory.
- Perform back-up functions for other office positions as needed.
- Assists with SAP issues and questions from staff and run reports as needed.
- Notifies supervisor about discrepancies and other issues.
- Attend all department and company meetings as required.
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Office environment in a warehouse setting. External noise, dusty outside building
- Requires the ability to perform primary job responsibilities while spending long periods of time at a computer.
- Occasionally lifting boxes or equipment up to 30lbs.
- Fast paced moderately stressful, constantly changing day to day work environment
- Required to wear proper PPE as tasks require.
- Overtime required as needed.
Required Background, Competencies & Expertise:
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience using a computer with working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate the ability to function in a team environment
Preferred Background, Competencies & Expertise:
- Experience with SAP
- Steel background
- Good people skills with an ability to deal with a variety of personalities.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
