Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained
- Develop and implement Inventory Control procedures and policies
- Coordinate with various departments to forecast demand and plan inventory accordingly
- Utilize MRP systems to track inventory movement and generate reports
- Analyze sales data and market trends to determine inventory needs
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing and contract terms
- Monitor and manage logistics for inbound and outbound shipments
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy of inventory records
- Implement strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory
- Lead a team of inventory associates, providing guidance and support
Experience:
- Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a retail or manufacturing setting
- Strong knowledge of Inventory Control principles and practices
- Proficiency in using MRP systems, such as AS400 or similar software
- Ability to analyze financial data and perform financial modeling related to inventory management
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions
- Familiarity with contract negotiation and supplier management
- Knowledge of logistics processes and experience coordinating shipments
- Experience working with Nielsen data or similar market research tools is a plus
