Job Summary
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Inventory Control Lead is responsible for providing lead support for controlling internal and external inventories. Leads effectively in processing, supports inventory audits and cycle counts, investigates variances, finds root causes, and reports findings according to schedule and SOP. Recommends improvements in the warehouse process to prevent inventory loss and increase productivity.
Minimum Requirement: Typically requires 5+ years of related experience.
Section A – Specific Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership to facilitate business needs, including reporting, establishing and maintaining inventory procedures, loss and recovery, and supporting other internal customers and employees.
- Controls inventory placement based on slot and database information, including count frequency.
- Will effectively lead all daily Inventory Control and material picking activities to support manufacturing, service, warranty, and others.
- Manage scheduled cycle counts.
- Review daily shorts and investigate.
- Monitors inbound and outbound returns
- Ensure all Inventory Control/returns functions are completed promptly and accurately.
Section B – Key Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in a distribution center/warehouse/manufacturing environment.
- 1-2 years of experience in a lead capacity involving leading teams or projects would be considered a strong asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Must be highly familiar with computers, ERP/MRP systems, Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to lift/move occasionally up to 40 pounds without assistance and greater weights in a team-lift environment.
- Physical requirements include lifting, carrying, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods.
- Ability and experience to operate forklifts, stand-ups, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Always keep the work area safe, organized, and clean.
- Follow company Health and Safety policies.
- Ensures all employees know and comply with the health and safety issues and principles. Training (i.e., orientation and safety talks); verbal and written safe operating procedures; performing regular workplace inspections; and enforcing safe operating procedures.
