Inventory Control Clerk

Location: Wayne Auto Salvage

1911 Hwy 117 South, Goldsboro, NC 27530

Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm

An Inventory Control Clerk will assess each individual part that has been inventoried by the inventory specialist before it goes live for sale. Upon reviewing all relevant data, this role will decide and assign the part to a final department and give it an appropriate price. This role may collaborate with sales, dismantling, and order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Engage in Inventory Control Practices

• Review inventoried parts in the inventory system and assign the part to a department/status.
• Ensure that part prices are consistent and that the minimum price is met, adjusting prices as necessary to meet market value.
• Determine if parts should be marked as core to maximize profitability and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Consistently identify, evaluate, and salvage parts for competitive prices.
• Follow pricing policies and procedures as determined by the site/region.
• Research market value for parts.
• Monitor market trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
• Keep up with changing core options.

Administrative

• Communicate with the supervisor and other team members or departments as needed.
• Research market value for parts.
• Look up missing mileage on inventoried vehicles.
• Data entry into the inventory system.

Continuous Improvement

• Identifies and implements opportunities for continuous improvement including process standardizations.

Awareness and Delivery onKPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

• Create and monitor monthly tracking to support roles KPI’s.
• Deliver and monitor contribution to cost savings, delivery accuracy, supplier compliance, and cycle time and quality standards.

Data Governance

• Demonstrate a solid understanding of Aesop’s tools and technology used to perform daily tasks.
• Follow established procedures and guidelines when evaluating the market value of inventory.

Provide Industry Leading Customer Service

• Promote customer service within the Purchasing department for both internal and external customers.
• Maintain good relationships with stakeholders.
• Support internal and external purchasing initiatives for inventory-related activities.
• Interact cross-functionally with Sales, Site Managers, and other departments.
• Responsible for building & and maintaining relationships with the region, hub, and other region team members.

Perform Other Duties as Assigned and Assist with Special Projects as Needed

• Support ad hoc projects, as needed by regional and hub purchasing leadership.

• Minimum one (1) year of directly related inventory experience with demonstrated knowledge of various makes and models of vehicles, including their features, mechanical systems, and potential parts value.
• Ability and willingness to learn and receive constructive feedback.
• Solid written and verbal communication with an elevated level of professionalism during all transactions both internally and externally.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract & calculate percentages)
• Proficiency with reporting tools, ERP systems, Microsoft Office suite, online search engines, and other software and cloud-based evaluation tools.
• Must demonstrate good attention to detail.
• Ability to process data and make informed decisions.
• Must be able to work collaboratively across functions outside of purchasing.

• Occasionally lift, move, and carry objects and materials up to 10 lbs.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
