The Position: Pain Management Medical Scribe
Employment Status: Full-time
Hours per two-week pay-period: 72 hours per pay period
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the documentation of clinical health information into the electronic medical record.
- Capturing detailed and accurate information of the patient encounter and documenting in a timely manner.
- Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to meet the needs of the patient and achieving an optimal clinical outcome.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years of healthcare/medical experience preferred.
- EPIC experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills
Certifications and Licenses
- Current BLS within 6 months of hire
- Medical Scribe Certification within one year employment
Position Summary
Full-Time Clinical Scribe position specializing in charting physician-patient encounters in real time, during patient clinic visits. Duties include transcribing clinical notes and entering information into the electronic health record under the direction of the provider. This position supports workflow and documentation for medical record coding. Responsible for capturing accurate and detailed documentation (handwritten, electronic, or otherwise) of the encounter in a timely manner. Knowledge of medical terminology, technical spelling, and basic anatomy is required. Experience with EPIC preferred. Position must uphold all HIPAA and health information guidelines. Excellent listening and verbal communication skills required to communicate detailed information.
