Summary:
Barr is seeking a GIS student to work on tasks such as map and figure creation, data management, data analysis, and quality control. Typical responsibilities may include creating maps for project reports, performing analyses of raster or vector data, performing database management, working with online map applications, obtaining and working with publicly available spatial datasets, and using standard GIS extensions.
This is a temporary position to take place in Summer 2024. This position requires in-office presence, with some flexibility, in Barr's Minneapolis office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications:
NOTE: Applicant must be able to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of construction sites. Work may also require entering and working in facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. An OSHA-mandated physical exam may be required. Safety training will be provided.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in GIS, geography, environmental science, or a related GIS field
- Demonstrated success and completion of at least two GIS courses
- Knowledge of and experience with ESRI's ArcGIS 10.x Suite and/or ArcGIS Pro
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- At least one full-time semester of undergraduate or graduate course work remaining after internship is complete
- A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs
- Detail-oriented, thorough, and organized approach
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future
- Possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
