Job Overview
Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a full-time International Coordinator.
Responsibilities
The International Coordinator is responsible for providing accurate, efficient and compassionate handling of the entire international patient referral and acceptance process.
The International Coordinator will oversee patient cases from initial referral stage through the time of arrival at Shriners Children's-Greenville hospital. The International Coordinator will receive incoming patient referrals from the Global International Staff with orthopedic needs. Coordinators establish and facilitate provider review and acceptance of the case, provide communication to the care management team, arrange courier service when applicable, provide communication to the families/patient upon arrival to the facility.
The International Coordinator works closely with all levels of administrative and medical staff at Shriners Children's-Greenville to facilitate patient acceptance, approvals, and care planning. The Coordinator also works with the International Clinical Coordinator to ensure comprehensive medical records and chart reviews.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
Minimum of of 3 years of experience working in a professional healthcare setting required
Medical Terminology required
Other
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred
A strong customer service philosophy, excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills required
Current full vaccination status required
