The Internal Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring that Flex-N-Gate's internal controls and processes are effective, efficient, and in compliance with relevant policies. You will conduct reviews, identify potential risks and provide recommendations to improve the organization's operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are detail-oriented, analytical and interested in understanding the inner workings of the organization.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and development of audit plans and programs, outlining the scope, objectives and procedures for conducting internal audits. Perform audit procedures, which may include interviews, documentation reviews, data analysis, and process walkthroughs, to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and procedures. Evaluate the organization's compliance with internal policies and procedures. Ensure that deviations are identified and reported. Prevent, detect and mitigate fraud risks through audits and investigations. Use data analysis tools and techniques to identify trends, anomalies or areas for improvement during audits. Prepare clear and concise audit reports that document audit findings, conclusions and recommendations. Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit processes to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the internal audit function. Follow-up on the implementation of audit recommendations and verify that corrective actions have been taken. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices relevant to internal auditing.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field including courses in auditing, accounting and finance.
- Ability to analyze data, identify patterns and draw reasonable conclusions.
- Ability to establish, maintain and manage effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the business, while maintaining independence and objectivity.
- Ambitious, self-motivated with an ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High ethical standards and integrity are critical in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- AS400 and CaseWare IDEA knowledge is desirable but not required.
- Exceptional driving record and valid driver's license.
- Extensive domestic and international travel may be required.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not necessary.
