Position Summary & Key Responsibilities 

Our dynamic, growing organization seeks an Intern to support the Scalable Solutions team, which works to empower change agents, entrepreneurs, and funders looking to accelerate social impact by serving as fiscal sponsor and manager of multi-donor projects. The intern will be exposed to various work streams within the department, including our new Accelerating Social Change Leadership (ASCL) Initiative, which will be a collaborative hub for supporting leaders to drive change at scale and support the effectiveness and efficiency of the social change sector. This multi-disciplinary program has four primary goals:  
 

  • Build knowledge among early-stage social entrepreneurs about different nonprofit operating models and provide direct support for their growth and enhanced impact.  

  • Lower the barriers for social change leaders to efficiently launch and sustain projects and campaigns.  

  • Support social change leaders to scale impact and thought leadership effectively, develop resilience, and deepen their ability to innovate and collaborate.  

  • Enable the intangible pre-requisites for driving collaborations and creating space for joint strategizing and visioning. 

 

 Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:  
 

Programmatic Support 

  • Assist with the development of educational resources, such as a Getting Started Guide and an online curriculum for early-stage social entrepreneurs (ESSEs). 

  • Support virtual strategic counsel sessions between Panorama staff and ESSEs. 

  • Conduct ad-hoc research for specific initiatives and efforts. 

  • Provide administrative support for business development, which may include scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and recording notes. 

Communications 

  • Support in creating and/or copyediting a variety of internal and external communications materials, including proposals, PowerPoint presentations, emails, one-pagers, newsletters, and research briefs.  

Knowledge Management 

  • Assist with internal efforts to develop and maintain knowledge management processes, such as digital file organization and archiving. 

  • Contribute to the development of “best practices” materials for relationship management of fiscally sponsored projects and ESSEs.  

  • Provide ad hoc additional support to Panorama’s fiscal sponsorship teams. 
     

This position reports to the Portfolio Manager but will work closely with the Senior Program Officer, ASCL as well. The role is available on a fully remote basis anywhere within the United States.

  • Rewarding experience that further develops skillsets and gains knowledge in new areas that will be applicable to future interests and career ambitions.   

  • Meets manager’s requests for administrative support, while also engaging in higher level work indicative of skills, experience, and ability to contribute to organization overall.  

  • As becomes more familiar with projects, increased comfort in taking initiative and working independently. 

  • Develops project management and meeting facilitation skills. 

  • Develops research & writing skills, and learns tools such as Salesforce, Asana, and Microsoft Viva.  

  • Gains an understanding of the business development function at a small, growing organization. 

  • Gains administrative and operational experience within non-profit organizational models.  

 

Position Requirements & Desired Qualifications 

This internship is open to full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (10-20 hours/week) scheduling for undergraduate and graduate students, or individuals 18+ with at least 3 years of professional experience or relevant education.   

Internships will start in mid-June and conclude in late August/early September, with some flexibility and consideration given to your schedule and school system’s calendar, as well as the possibility to extend on a part-time schedule through the Fall 2023 semester.  
 

  • Demonstrated passion for international social impact issues, and interest in non-profit administration. 

  • Interest in learning about and collaborating with a variety of types of organizations, including corporations, foundations, multi-laterals agencies, and international NGOs. 

  • Ability to take initiative, problem-solve and work independently. 

  • Ability to prioritize and handle simultaneous assignments while adapting to changing deadlines, priorities and workflow with success and accuracy. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as demonstrable interpersonal skills and willingness to work in collaborative environment.  

  • Able to work in fast-paced environment, prioritize workflow and balance needs of multiple projects, while maintaining close attention to detail. 

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft SharePoint/Viva, and/or Asana is a bonus. 

 

Compensation 

Panorama offers paid internships with compensation starting at $15.74/hour or the relevant city/state minimum wage where the intern is located, whichever is higher.
