Sensient's Color Service Lab (CSL) team is searching for a lab intern that will support in the areas of; sample preparation, lab trials, pilot plant support and new product development trials.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Provides assistance with sample preparation for samples being sent to customers for evaluation.
- Provides assistance with sample preparation to evaluate new raw materials.
- Conducts lab trials under the direction of Application Technologists to support application projects.
- Conduct trials using pilot plant equipment to support new product development.
- Write reports as required to document findings from trials or projects.
- Participates in all staff meetings.
- Builds and maintains relationships with employees and colleagues in a professional and personable manner adhering to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality on matters that require discretion.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and abilities:
- Basic lab knowledge and skills. This includes, but is not limited to knowledge and the ability to measure characteristics such as pH, viscosity, solids, etc.
- Knowledge of various lab equipment such as a Colorimeter a Spectrophotometer is a plus.
- Excellent proficiency in verbal and written communication.
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
- Able to work independently and as part of a team on a broad variety of projects.
- Able to establish and maintain working relationships with employees across all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
- Able to deliver effective and accurate results and meet deadlines.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented and a self-starter
- Ability to execute, multi-task and thrive in an extremely fast paced, high growth environment
Education and experience:
Intern must be at a minimum status of a junior level and working toward a four-year degree program. Preferably in Food Science, Chemistry or Biology. A minimum of a 3.0 overall GPA is required.
