Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities
The Iridium Internship Program is an opportunity for students to be a part of the Iridium teams shaping the future of satellite communications. As an Intern, you'll begin making an impact on real projects from day one! Come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company. The Iridium Internship program is a 12-week program that runs from May 20, 2024 to August 9, 2024. During the program, interns will have the opportunity to provide valuable support to an Iridium department on a project or important work assignment. Interns will also be provided an opportunity to engage with senior leadership and fellow interns via regular engagement activities. Interns will participate in an end of internship presentation, where we ask them to reflect on their summer internships and present a summary of what they have learned and accomplished.
What We're Looking For:
The Iridium Project Management team is seeking a bright intern to learn technical Project Management skills in a complex satellite telecommunications environment. As a member of the team you will learn engineering development methodologies as well as how to use estimate and scope techniques for complex projects. Iridium is growing & PMO is evolving to support the growth. This is an exciting opportunity for interns to experience the dynamics of a program. Being involved in understanding the Project life cycle, risk management, procurement and decision making process will expose intern to real live experience dealing with engineering challenges & programmatic processes (Scope, Time & Cost).
What You'll Do:
- Assist with updating Project controls & management templates & reports
- Support project manager in creating & obtaining data from Executive Dashboard and create monthly Project Reports
- Be responsible for analyzing the data to present to Project Manager to ensure accurate actions
- Work on several commercial programs to support daily operations
- Participate in Technical, Schedule & Program Management Reviews
- Formulate an understanding of Project dynamics & decision making to maintain corporate objectives.

- Knowledge of engineering principles, operations, Project Management & accounting/finance
- US Citizenship Required
