INTERN - MERCHANDISE PLANNING & ALLOCATION
REPORTS TO: VP, PLANNING & MERCHANDISE
STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

Our six-week, paid summer internship program offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced retail environment, with the opportunity to address real-time and future business needs. Additionally, the program includes industry seminars, one-on-one mentorship, professional development and networking opportunities with senior leadership and peers.
Key learnings for the Intern - Merchandise Planning & Allocation are: merchandise reporting, analysis, order processing, plan development, retail math, sales analysis, determining inventory needs, and product lifestyle.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Use discipline specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to assist with various projects, presentations, and business improvement opportunities.
  • Lead department/function specific project from start to finish and present project deliverable(s) to senior leadership for consideration.
  • Note: Function-specific responsibilities will be outlined during the interview process.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management
  • Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearance
  • Adheres to all Company Policies & Procedures and Safety Regulations
  • Adheres to local, state and federal laws
  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management
  • Understands and complies with all company rules and regulations

Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled as a student at an accredited university/college
  • 1-2 years of work or volunteer experience
  • Passion for fashion and retail industry
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Strong desire for continuous learning and professional development
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to balance multiple assignments at once
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Internship Guidelines
  • This is a paid ($15.50/hr) summer internship from June 19 - July 28.
  • Boot Barn does not offer travel or housing stipends.
  • Students must be able to make a commitment of full-time employment (Monday - Friday 8:30AM-5PM). Office will be closed July 3rd - July 4th for Independence Day.
  • The program will be based out of our Irvine Store Support Center, located in Irvine, CA. Remote work will not be offered.

PAY RANGE: $15.50/hour
*compensation varies based on geography, skills, experience, and tenure
Physical Demands

  • Standing, walking and squatting less than fifty percent of the work shift.
  • Required to lift, move and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation and reports.

  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Manual dexterity required using hands to finger; handle, feel and type; reach with hands and arms.
