The JM Family College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program, you will actively contribute to your team's success, learn about JM Family's companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities, networking events and much more.
The ideal candidate will be available to work full time hours during the Summer Internship Program (June 3, 2024 - August 9, 2024). If candidate is able, we would be open to starting earlier and extend the timeframe of the Internship Program.
This internship will include projects and tasks that relate to various dealership projects, including space planning, updating floor plans, and completing area calculations in AutoCAD. The position will also be responsible for updating various worksheets, reports and creating total investments spent using contractor pay applications.
Responsibilities:
- Proficient knowledge in using AutoCAD software to complete area calculations and add layers to a schematic design.
- Ability to evaluate invoices and payment applications to determine validity and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills to efficiently process and act on matters in a deliverable-driven atmosphere.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to share and process reports and pertinent project information amongst team players and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with other associates as well as contractors, vendors, and our Dealer partners.
Qualifications:
- This is a full-time, hybrid work schedule of 3 days in office, 2 days remote. Will consider full remote for the right candidate.
- Ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a bachelor or graduate degree seeking program at an accredited college or university with a focus in architecture, construction management or design(qualified candidates actively enrolled for a degree in a related field will also be considered) and must have completed at least one semester of classes
- Relevant completed coursework including AutoCAD or similar
- Effective use of technologies and tools, including AutoCAD software, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Reader, is required (Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp a plus).
