Overview
Our innovation practice works to establish and foster a culture of innovation leveraging a design thinking-centered approach to identifying and solving areas of opportunities for the organization. Proactively responding to market trends and technological advances to stay relevant with current donors and fundraisers as well as create new interesting and compelling platforms that inspire engagement and giving with new audiences.
Identifying focused innovation opportunities within our current/core fundraising campaigns and then solving the gaps to increase the number of participating companies, fundraisers, and donors to drive revenue growth. As well as developing and launching new revenue streams with the potential to raise $10M annually. We are seeking an intern with a passion for and some experience with esports and gaming, especially in the collegiate space. Experience participating in collegiate clubs is beneficial. Ideal candidates will have strong attention to detail, excel in research and analysis as well and be proficient in Microsoft.
The American Heart Association's Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets of the American Heart Association's mission. It will offer experience in the use of current business and development technologies.
This internship offers the opportunity to gain professional experience with a national non-profit organization while working directly to support the Field Campaigns and Development team.
Internship Overview:
  • Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week
  • Internship Duration: 1/16/24-5/3/24
  • Remote position
  • Salary: $23 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Esports program development and support
    • Research and analysis of the current esports environment.
    • Conduct focus groups and gather insights.
    • Assist in the development of the American Heart Association's aligned programs to engage the esports (scholastic primary focus) community.
    • Design slide decks, one-page overview documents, and other supplemental materials for the program as needed.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated excellence in written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally in a corporate, non-profit environment and assume responsibility for guiding communications and projects from inception through completion.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi Connection.
  • Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30 am-5 pm.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
