What You'll Do
We are currently seeking an Industrial Design major who will work with the Team Sports Innovation Team to complete projects developing new Team Sports products. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Please submit a resume and portfolio or provide a link to your portfolio.
Their main focus would be around these 360 accessory design projects including women's basketball, indoor volleyball, flag football and soccer. The goal of their internship would be to pick one of these sports and formulate a cohesive approach to surrounding the athlete with trusted Wilson products. Considerations should be taken on our current positioning within each sport as well as how we can complement our future sportswear offerings.
They would be in charge of initial consumer and product landscape research to set the project off with a strong foundation. From that point they would begin a concepting phase and use sketching and rendering visualization to bring their concepts to life. The next step would then be to hopefully generate physical prototype samples of their concepts if time permits. This would be a very validating process for a junior designer to see their concepts come to life.
Throughout this process they would integrate with our entire design team including graphic and industrial designers. They would also get a lot of opportunity to work with our business, engineering and marketing counterparts to get a truly cross-functional experience. They would get to learn a lot about how Wilson Team Sports Design functions on a daily basis and what it takes to work professionally as an industrial designer.
