The Cirrus Logic Embedded Software team is seeking a summer intern who will explore the dynamic tracking of lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery behavior and testing of various battery management system algorithms under real life conditions using both physical battery measurements and synthetic data. Candidate must work equally well in either independent or team efforts. Candidate must be insightful and highly effective at presenting ideas. It is strongly desired that the candidate be able to continue their internship part-time into the fall semester.
Responsibilities - Understanding the existing real time battery data capture set-up
- Conducting a wide variety of tests and create new tests to validate different algorithms
- Documenting created test methods and educate colleagues on how to conduct the tests
- Capturing new sets of battery data for algorithm development. This includes writing MATLAB scripts to automate data collection.
- Collecting data and process the same through algorithms and perform tunings on the algorithm for efficient performance
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in EE/CSE; must have taken DSP courses and should be proficient in MATLAB/C
- Excellent organization and presentation skills
- Attention to detail and organization
- Ph.D. candidate specializing in signal processing, power, or battery systems
- Familiarity with laboratory test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems)
- Experience conducting experiments and collecting data in a laboratory
- Working knowledge with Python
- Elementary electrical circuit analysis
- Signal processing
- Statistical signal processing: adaptive filtering, detection, estimation, stochastic processes
This opportunity is available for the summer semester only. It is available only to students currently enrolled in a MS or PhD program in Electrical Engineering maintaining a GPA of 3.6 or above, and who will be returning to school for at least one semester following completion of his/her internship. Candidate must be available for full-time employment during the internship.
