Responsibilities
GM Financial is targeting significant growth as it transforms the Protection/Insurance Products into a full captive platform. Our team is responsible for bringing the branded General Motors F&I products to market and we work hands-on with our dealer partners to improve performance in their F&I department. In order to provide the best service to our field personnel and dealer customers, we are looking for someone with a customer-centric mindset who can build relationships and solve problems. The Dealer Field Experience Intern will work closely with Regional Sales Managers, Protection Account Representatives, dealer personnel, and the corporate staff to quickly resolve issues and answer questions related to the GM Protection products and processes. This position will help drive value to our dealers by making their job easier.
- Central point of contact for internal and external GM Protection requests or inquiries
- Develop workforce management tools and routines to ensure adequate coverage of field and dealer personnel
- Contribute to improving end-to-end dealer journey (enrollment through claims processing and payment) to eliminate pain points and improve efficiency
- Ensure the dealership is provided with excellent and prompt customer service and that customer (GM, GMF, and dealer) issues are resolved quickly
- Uses logic, data analysis, judgment and common sense when solving problems. Looks beyond the obvious and probes to gain a better understanding of complex or unusual situations, understands the customer and their operations and provides a consultative approach in supporting the dealer customer
Qualifications
- Must be a current student pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Business, Sales, Business Analytics, or other related major with at least one semester remaining upon start of the internship.
- Must possess a minimum of a 3.0 (out of a 4-point scale) overall GPA.
- Junior or Senior classification preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required. This incumbent will be required to give presentations and communicate with business leaders.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and conceptual skills required.
- Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently or in a team setting.
- Previous internships are considered a plus.
