Job Description
- Report directly to the Principal Designer
- Develop and present potential design concepts, based on the client’s needs, desires, and budget.
- Create detailed drawings and 3D models of interior spaces, furniture layouts, and interior finishes using computer-aided design (CAD) software (Revit and Chief Architect a plus)
- Work on design assignments that will include space planning, concept design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
- Coordinate with architects, builders, and contractors to ensure the successful implementation of designs.
- Review shop drawings, and material submittals and conduct periodic site visits during construction.
- Select and specify materials, furniture, fixtures, and finishes for interior spaces.
- Assist with research, sourcing, and pricing.
- Sampling, CFA’s, and vendor follow through.
- Manage product images; scanning, saving, and printing.
- Assist with the creation of client proposals.
- Create digital client presentations using Canva and PowerPoint
- Update Design Docs (Project Management Software) with all design necessary updates
- Update Master Task List
- Create and maintain design binders.
- Assist with updating and maintaining the resource library.
- Stay up to date with the latest interior design trends, materials, and technology to ensure our projects are at the forefront of the industry.
- Assist in managing the designs of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Provide design support and documentation during the completion and execution of all design phases.
- Professional degree in Architecture and/or Interior Design.
- On track for professional licensure in interior design or architecture
- Proficient in design software programs- CAD, Revit, sketch-up, Chief Architect a plus, and Microsoft Office
- Minimum 4 years of experience or equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- General understanding of sustainable strategies and principles including familiarity with LEED or other green building rating systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- NCIDQ or AIA certification is preferred, but not required.
- Possesses general knowledge of building codes and ADA guidelines as they relate to life safety and space planning.
