Job Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, organize, advertise, and implement college/ campus-wide student programs to promote student participation in college sponsored events and participation in activities that provide an opportunity for students to engage with the greater campus community.
• Support other SCC services and departments by collaborating and promoting Student Engagement and success through all areas of SCC. Supervise our food pantry and ensure that students are aware of this resource.
• Oversee our Student Government Association and assist them in being the bridge between the student body and the administration. Develop and manage a long-range strategic plan for website management as well as the project management of new website(s) and digital tools. Provide advice and counsel to all student clubs and organizations and assist in ensuring engaging content for the campus community; Serve as a liaison to student leadership, contributing to the overall and wholistic engagement of SCC students.
• Participates in college committees and task forces related to all aspects of student life and work closely with faculty and staff to create a relationship between them and students.
• Assists with development of goals, objectives, and learning outcomes for the Office of Student Engagement, in support of the college's strategic plan. Provide personal and professional development to the Student Life team.
• Engage in professional development and SCTCS peer group opportunities which may involve traveling and occasional overnight stay; serve as the Chief Student Life Officer and liaison to the SCTCS student life peer group and as the liaison between SCC and the city through a relationship with College Town.
• Provide oversight and direction to the food pantry, including direct supervision, training, and evaluation of the food pantry personnel.
• Ensure the management of the Student HUB through staffing and provide oversight and direction to the evening services of the Student Hub, including direct supervision, training, and evaluation of the evening services coordinator.
• Implement and oversee campuswide student life/programming initiatives on all five (5) SCC campuses.
• Facilitate the establishment of more late night, evening and weekend programming effectively meeting students where they are by being available after hours for programming/other initiatives. • Other duties, as assigned
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Services, Counseling or a closely related field
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Services, Counseling, or a closely related field 5 years of experience in Student Affairs/Student Services, preferably in a leadership role
