SUMMARY: Hudson High School is seeking an Interim Assistant Principal to support our community through the end of the 2023-2024 school year. This position is accountable for assisting the principal with the administration and the efficient operation of all aspects of the high school school facility consistent with sound educational principles and philosophy of education, which strongly emphasizes student learning and success.

This individual is responsible for assuming shared responsibility with their fellow assistant principal in the absence of the principal. The assistant principal will share the supervision and educator evaluation responsibilities of the high school staff. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The essential functions or duties listed below are illustrations of the type of work that is performed and is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for by this position.

Other duties may be assigned. Manages a caseload of students and families and serves as their primary point of contact for matters pertaining to student learning, school discipline, and student health and well-being. Works collaboratively with a team of educators to develop, support, and monitor interventions to support student success academically, socially, and emotionally.Supervises and evaluates school site personnel for the purpose of monitoring performance and providing feedback for professional growth, following relevant procedures and policies when appropriate.Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of professional development activities.Facilitates communication between and among personnel, students and/or families for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems, resolving conflicts, and celebrating achievement.Manages school administrative functions as assigned by the principal for the purpose of maintaining safe and efficient school operations and following school and district policies and procedures.Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. The Superintendent may waive or modify the qualification requirements. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Licensure as a Secondary School Principal/Assistant Principal from the Massachusetts Department of Education with the SEI endorsement.A minimum of a Master's Degree in an appropriate field.A minimum of three years teaching experience.Working knowledge of Massachusetts public education, administration/supervision, and curriculum development.Strong written, verbal, and culturally responsive communication skills that reflect the mission and values of the high school.

Is able to adjust communication appropriately for the intended audience. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Principal may find appropriate and acceptable.Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI), and fingerprintsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Demonstrated experience-supporting students from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: School site personnel as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is effective through June 28, 2024.

Extention of employment is possible if the candidate proves viable through a search for a permanent Assistant Principal. 12 month role. 25 vacation days, 5 personal days, 18 sick days.

BEnefit eligible on start dateSalary range: $100,000 - $ to be determined by Superintendent of SchoolEVALUATION: the appropriate administrator in accordance with DESE regulations, 603CMR35.00, will evaluate Performance of this job.
