Position Summary:

This individual will report to and work under the supervision of the Senior Director of IP and provide support to the IP team. 

Responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Assist in the preparation and filing of patent applications, including provisional, non-provisional, PCT, and foreign filings
• Assist in managing domestic and international patent and trademark portfolios internally and with our outside counsel firms, including monitoring and updating due dates and tracking renewal and maintenance fees
• Organize and maintain patent and trademark prosecution files and documents and assist in docketing into IP docketing system
• Assist with management of IDS spreadsheets and filing with the USPTO
• Review and process all Intellectual Property-related correspondence including all electronic mail sent to the IP inboxes
• Monitor and review trademark watch notices
• Assist in coordinating Patent Committee meetings, keep minutes, and assist with correspondence with outside counsel regarding Patent Committee decisions

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred, Paralegal certificate a plus
• Minimum of two (2) years of patent paralegal experience preferably in a law firm or an in-house legal department or comparable medical-technology-oriented business
• Working knowledge of IP docketing systems (preferably PattsyWave or Anaqua)
• Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

$90,000 - $119,000 a year

(Commensurate with experience, training and education)
