This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, Security and the MK1 and MK2 Lunar Lander Program. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers (use as appropriate), you will:

Provide tactical and technical support to Engineering/Production/Manufacturing by performing activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro/mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment.
  • Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles.
  • Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control.
  • Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, and other ground support equipment as required.
  • Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges and optical measuring instruments.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD
  • Work off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field.
  • Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, work instructions and test procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, disciplines, and backgrounds
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person.
  • Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas.
  • Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field
  • A&P License
  • Prior Military
  • Space TEC Certified
  • Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
  • Experience in fluids installs and testing Tubing, valves, hoses etc.
  • Experience in instrumentation and electrical components and test
  • Avionics assemblies build and checkout.
  • Experience in Aerospace/Launch vehicle assembly
  • Clean Room Experience
  • ESD awareness
  • Knowledge of Pneumatic Systems.
  • Experience in assembling large tight-tolerance structural items.
  • Precision Hand Drilling.
  • Power feed Drill Motors.
  • Structural Sealants, Primers, and Paints.
