STERIS Integration Technicians act as the face of STERIS by achieving One of a Kind Service for our Customers. The Integration Tech is a field-based, Customer-facing role that primarily travels to Customer sites (medical facilities/hospitals) to install Operating Room equipment. 

 

Service Territory Home Base: Orlando, Florida

  • Please note, this role requires extensive overnight travel up to 90% and potentially 100% during peak periods along with evening, early morning, or weekend shifts as needed to complete projects. 

 

What will you do as an Integration Tech?

 

As a STERIS Integration Technician, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of various integration systems used in hospital operating rooms! This includes physical placement of equipment, installation, termination and interconnection of all cables, downloading and configuration of software; and testing of all functions per test documentation as required. This Position will typically work under the direction of Integration Specialist or Integration Project Manager. General duties include: 

 

  • Primary service area, but not limited to Orlando and Miami. (May require work outside of standard assigned territory.)
  • Installation, testing, and demonstration of integration systems.  May be asked on occasion to interface with customers and hospital staff.
  • Provide verbal and written progress reports to the installation leader/project manager.
  • Perform administrative duties in a timely manner including checklists, Siebel entry, expense reporting, time entry, and others as required.
  • Maintains courteous and professional demeanor when working with customers, contractors, management, and fellow employees.
  • Utilize customer protocols when entering and exiting facilities and abide by all STERIS and Customer Health & Safety protocols and procedures. 
  • May be asked to assist with warranty calls, field upgrade programs, etc. 
  • Provide daily email updates to keep all parties informed and ensure timely in-service, hand off to local technicians, and customer satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What experience, skills, and ability will you need?

 

Education/License Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Electronics, mechanical or similar degree, plus one year of related experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of two years of experience.
  • Valid and active Drivers License with a clean driving record. 

 

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of one to two years' experience in a related field of work with service support and/or installation - biomed, electronics, audio/video, or hospital IT experience a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of personal computers, video technology, video cabling, networking.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Technical and troubleshooting skills along with strong organization and problem-solving skills required. Proficiency in computers and windows software strongly preferred.
  • Excellent, polished customer interaction skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and articulately with customers.
  • Energetic with a desire to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel extensively as required.
  • Must be able to be compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements
  • Ability to do the following: lifting 50lb+, bending, squatting, sitting standing, and twisting
  • May be subject to customer drug testing, customer specific safety training and facility/hospital requirements/guidelines. 
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a Physical Capabilities Examination, Drug Screening, and Driving and Criminal Record Review
