Integrated Media Planner, Freelance (long-term)

INNOCEAN USA, a full-service advertising agency located in Huntington Beach, CA, is searching for a long-term Freelance Media Planner to join our General Accounts team!

 

The Integrated Media Planner for General Accounts (UC Davis Health, New Business, etc.) reports into the Group Media Director and works closely with the Associate Media Director, Media Supervisor, and Assistant Media Planner on the day-to-day media planning and implementation efforts. Ideally, the successful candidate will possess an understanding of both digital and traditional channels from a strategy, planning, execution, and measurement standpoint.

 

 

The Integrated Media Planner will work closely with several groups including the clients, creative agencies, internal account and media teams, and media vendors. This position requires an entrepreneurial mindset and strong attention to detail in managing the day-to-day relationship with the client. We are looking for an individual with a go-getter mentality that is passionate and works well filling in the gaps. The ideal candidate has an interest in healthcare and media, can work in a flexible hybrid work/home environment, is a team player, and has Integrated Media knowledge.

 

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As the role is on a media only client, a main responsibility will be managing day-to-day contact with client and maintaining and prioritizing all active projects
  • As a key liaison between the agency and client, there is an element of project management in coordinating client direction between the media team and internal departments and back to the client
  • Managing client expectations, deadlines, relationship
  • Responsible for managing weekly status meetings and weekly search meetings
  • Work with the team to help develop and execute Integrated Media strategies and plans that deliver on the client's objectives and goals. This includes:

Target research, strategic flighting, channel mixes, budget allocations, and partner recommendations

Both digital and traditional channels (e.g., linear, audio, print, digital video, programmatic, paid social, paid search, etc.)

  • Help to provide media thought leadership and innovation to move client business forward
  • Utilize effective time management and project management skills to ensure deadlines are being met with quality work across all accounts
  • Manage the media flowcharts, including creative rotations and keeping the asset grid updated
  • Ability to adapt and keep up with a quick paced environment; the planning team has several roles including strategy, planning, execution, and measurement
  • Work with the planning team on New Business efforts
  • Individual will be the point person on implementing media
  • Ability to run with things on their own and knows when to ask if necessary
  • A team player that's not afraid to jump in and help where needed (e.g., reporting, billing, trafficking, etc.)

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must have experience working directly with clients
  • Excellent attention to detail and organized to manage day to day on all campaigns
  • Must have a blend of experience that covers both Digital and Traditional channels (e.g., linear, audio, print, OTT, digital, programmatic, paid social, paid search)
  • Knowledge of Media-related research, planning, buying & digital related resources (e.g., Ad Intel, Simmons, ComScore, Campaign Manager, Prisma, etc.)
  • Digital trafficking experience (e.g., Campaign Manager)
  • Healthcare experience is a plus
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks and consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

 

EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of progressive levels of responsibility in media planning, buying, and management across all channels (e.g., linear, audio, print, digital video, programmatic, paid social, paid search, etc.)
  • Direct client management experience

REPORTS TO: Group Media Director

 

SALARY RANGE: $$70,000 - $75,000

  • Pay is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to: years of experience, training, and transferable skills.
