Schedule: 8am to 5pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Position will require office training. Once trained you can work from home!
Responsibilities
- Works with community health partners and agency's home care and hospice teams in the patient referral process.
- Effectively educate prospective patients, families, physicians and hospitals and other facilities regarding home health and hospice programs.
- Receive, analyze and process incoming referrals via variety of pathways including fax, portals and phone.
- Maintain a log of all incoming referrals.
- Verify insurance benefits, eligibility and precertification requirements with insures either by phone or website.
- Enter basic medical coding.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated critical thinking, organization and attention to detail.
- Minimum of one year experience in medical coding and third-party payer authorizations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in medical setting.
- EMR experience.
- Familiarity with community resources within agency territory.
Required
- Pre-employment physical.
- Annual flu vaccine unless provided with religious or medical waiver
- Satisfactory background screening including criminal record.
