Rogers Behavioral Health, the area's leader in behavioral health services, is seeking a Full-time Intake Screener for our Schaumburg IL location. Are you empathetic and able to listen to and connect with people going through a difficult time?  If yes, we would love to speak with you.

 

Summary:

The Intake Screener is responsible for completing potential patients assessments over the phone. The Intake Screener serves as a patient advocate and allows access to life changing care for members of the community. Intake Screener work within a collaborative team including physicians, providers, other intake specialists and many other members of a multidisciplinary team.   Gain career experience to develop and progress with a nationally recognized behavioral health leader.

 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In a call center environment, completes admission assessments with potential patients and/or their representatives.
  • Provide accurate and complete clinical documentation in screening to support decisions for appropriate level of care.
  • Knowledge of all Rogers programs and services and the ability to explain to patients/families/referents.
  • Gather demographic and insurance information of potential patients and/or responsible representatives.
  • Connect potential patients and/or their representative with outside resources when indicated.
  • Communicate with members of the multi-disciplinary team, as needed, regarding documentation and clinical criteria to assist with reimbursement and third-party reviews and treatment issues.
  • Participate in the On-Call, weekend, and holiday schedule, as assigned.

 

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, human services, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a health care setting; health information, admissions, utilization review, or patient billing.
  • Customer service experience is required.
  • Empathy and understanding towards patients’ needs and challenges, creating a supportive and caring environment.
  • Understanding of managed care, Medicaid, and Medicare insurance is a plus.
  • Comfortable navigating electronic medical records.
  • Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen.

 

 

Schedule: 

  • Department is staffed 7 days a week, including holidays
  • Shift: Monday thru Friday; 8:30am - 5:00pm some flexibility 
  • Weekend and holiday rotation is required
  • Shift differential for nights, weekends and holidays

 

 

Location: Schaumburg IL
