Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7am-3pm
Pay Rate: Starting rate is $17.00 per hour depending on experience, though if you have years of experience in this type of work the pay could start higher. Pay increases are considered annually, bonuses are available throughout the year, and there is room for growth to Crew Leader and Crew Leader/Trainer positions with experience, quality performance, and demonstrating strong work ethic.
Installer/ Laborer, This position performs the following duties:
- Installs blown-in cellulose insulation and related weatherization measures to the interior/exterior shell of a structure.
- Performs basic carpentry tasks such as: measuring, cutting, hammering, caulking, loading material into a hopper, and operating power tools.
- Assists with general job site preparations, truck and job-site cleanliness & organization, basic vehicle and equipment maintenance and operation.
Work Environment/ Physical Demands:
- Works in all interior areas of a building, such as: crawlspaces, basements, living areas, garages, attics, ceilings, knee-walls, and rafters.
- Works on all exterior areas of a building, such as: walls, roofs, and overhangs.
- Works in dirty, cramped, dark, extremely hot/cold spaces related to the building’s accessibility on a regular basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform tasks while kneeling, crawling, stretching, standing, and sitting for long periods of time.
- Must be able to perform tasks while standing on a ladder, stage, or roof for long periods of time.
- Must be able to perform tasks while confined to limited spaces for long periods of time.
Education/ Experience/ Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- General knowledge of hand and power tools, standard measuring, and calculating ability. Must be able to read a tape measurer.
- Able to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Able to demonstrate the ability to learn and implement safe working practices.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to operate company vehicles upon request preferred but not required.
- Reliable transportation to work locations is required.
- Most tools will be provided by the company. However, the Installer must be able to provide some basic personal tools and continue to acquire the tools that make for a professional. A list of all required tools will be provided during initial interview.
- Must be able to pass Drug Testing and Federal Background Check.
Mincin Insulation is a contractor for multiple local public utility companies hired to provide specialty energy efficiency diagnostics and installations for their customers. We install blown-in cellulose insulation and air sealing materials that limit the ability of energy to transfer through the shell of a building.
As an Insulation Crew Helper, you can expect to work on residential and commercial buildings to install insulation and related weatherization measures to a structure's interior/exterior shell. You will assist an insulation crew with general job site preparations, basic carpentry tasks, truck and job site cleanliness and organization, and basic vehicle and equipment maintenance and operation. You will be assigned to work for a designated crew leader daily to receive assigned duties and assist with overall install completions. The helper must demonstrate the ability to receive instructions, execute tasks under limited supervision, and perform general carpentry tasks such as: measuring, cutting, hammering, caulking, loading material into a hopper, and operating power tools while standing on a ladder, stage, or high roof pitch. The helper should strive to work towards having the ability and desire to become a permanent installer and crew leader once experience allows.
Within the first six months of employment, the helper is expected to demonstrate all learned basic carpentry skills necessary to become a certified installer.
