Job Description
Instrumentation & Control Design Engineer
· Bachelors degree in Mechanical, or Electrical engineering
· Licensed professional engineer
· Formal Lean Six Sigma training is considered an asset
· At least 5 years of practical experience in I&C design, selection, installation, commissioning.
· Previous EPC, Oil & Gas experience is considered a plus.
· Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems, & Safety Related Systems instrument selection
· Experience with HAZOP & LOPA
· Self starter, positive, with a strong ability to work cross functionally in a matrix organization with limited supervision
· Thorough understanding of all applicable NA Electrical, & Safety standards
· Experience with the following standards UL508, UL508A, NFPA79, NFPA 70, CSA equivalent, NEC, CEC, OSHA, and other standards for North America.
· Experience with electrical design international standards IEC and IEEE.
· Thorough background in PFD, P&ID, Electrical drawings, & LV
· Working understanding of Siemens PLC’s, analog/digital inputs, etc.
· Experience with projects for Hazard Location specially in North America.
· Previous experience with DFMA.
· Ability to work in design, & selection environments, as well as manufacturing & commissioning.
· Ability to travel as needed.
